Apply for a car

For people who are homeless or about to be, and who need a car to live in and to get to work. Read the requirements, then answer every question honestly.

Before you apply

You must be 18 or older and hold a valid driver’s license.
You must have no DUI on your driving record.
You must agree to a background check and a drug test before a car is given, and sign the authorization forms when we send them.
You must be able to insure the car, show proof of insurance before it is handed over, and keep it insured with a valid license for as long as you drive it.
Cars come from donors, and donors choose who receives their car. Approval does not guarantee a car.

Your agreement

I agree to a background check and a check of my driving record before a car is given, and I will sign the authorization forms when asked. I agree to a drug test before a car is given. If I receive a car, I will keep it insured and keep a valid driver’s license for as long as I drive it. The Foundation may show donors my first name, my state and my story. (Optional, but donors choose who gets their car, and they can only choose people they can see.) Everything in this application is true.
